ASBV'S
ASBVs are generated by data and are indications of an animal’s genetic merit for a particular trait. They are predictions on how an animal’s progeny will perform based on their specific genes. An ASBV may be different to the animal's physical performance as it is a combination of both genetic and environmental influences.
SELECTION FUNDAMENTALS
At Hynam Poll Merinos we take a balanced approach when classing. We visually assess all animals on body structure, wool quality and skin type. And along with Australian Sheep Breeding Values (ASBV’S) that are obtained we hope to select the best quality rams to improve our ongoing breeding program and to provide to our clients.
